  • michelle & bill's wedding.

    Red shoes+argyle socks=hotness. ;)

04.12.08 // admiral kidd club // san diego, ca

So you may remember Michelle & Bill’s amazing fun engagement session (post 1 & 2), and it was time for their wedding! It was a festive affair with a tropical theme. Michelle & Bill exchanged lei’s during the ceremony, and plumeria’s decorated her bouquet & cake. Speaking of cake, it was from Extraordinary Desserts and it was SO delicious! Mmmmmm! Makes me want more. ;)

Michelle & Bill, you guys are far too fabulous for your own good. :) I’m so very glad that I was blessed with the privilege of photographing this amazing day for you - a thousand blessings unto you both!

This little guy literally ran down the aisle :)

  • janet & glenn. the wedding.

04.05.08 // st michael’s parish & admiral baker clubhouse // san diego, ca

Okay, so I really wanted to post SO many photos from this wedding, but I think I would’ve gone totally overboard. Janet & Glenn were married last Saturday at St Michael’s Parish which has a new beautiful altar, with the photos at Presidio Park, and reception at Admiral Baker Clubhouse. You might remember their engagement photos :) Janet was STUNNING, and Glenn was SO happy, he kept telling me “Thank You!!” every time he had a moment! You two really are meant for each other in so many ways, and I’m so thankful that I got to photograph your wonderful union. & without further ado, here they are :)

In Glenn’s words “That is a WOMAN!”

  • the knot best of weddings.

A few weeks ago I received a phonecall from The Knot, telling me that I was chosen for their “Best of Weddings 2008” issue! I was pretty surprised, but so happy! I’m one in 12 photographers that were selected by brides for San Diego :) What an honor! THANK YOU to all who voted! :)

Here’s the little blurb that was written about me:

  • larissa & baldwin . wedding.

The time has finally come! Photos from Baldwin & Larissa’s special day. :)

I’ve known Baldwin for quite some time now, we go way back ;) While talking to his mom at the wedding, she told me that he REALLY wanted me to do the wedding, and to hear that is such an honor. I hope I lived up to the expectation! ;)

The wedding was beautiful, with a ceremony at Grace Lutheran Church and the reception at the Bahia Resort Hotel. Larissa, Baldwin, you two are seriously so wonderful & this is such a privilege for me - as Baldwin had said “Who would’ve imagined that Susan would be taking my wedding photos?!” I had so much fun with you two, especially afterwards at Belmont Park, where we went to take the formals after the whole thing was over. You guys are awesome, I wish you many, many blessed years to come. ;)

P.S. I already know I have way too many images in this post, but I couldn’t help myself! :)

I love the way Larissa is looking at him :)

    Baldwin’s pride & joy ;)

    Singing to one another ;)

Larissa danced with her grandfather as well :D

The beautiful detail in her dress

    Ah, brotherly love :)

There were so many of these beautiful moments they had, they said so many things to each other that would cause them to burst out laughing. It was lovely to watch & capture :)

    I couldn’t resist suggesting it ;)

    Of course, Larissa won :)

    lorelle & jason + ashley & ellen . engagement

Don’t forget to have a little fun every now and then ;)

Another college engagement session! :D Lorelle & Jason met when they were at school at UC Riverside, so we headed over there to do their engagement photos. These two are so amazingly adorable, and I had such a wonderful time getting to know them. :) I had so much fun exploring the campus & romping around with you two! Jason also did his very first cartwheel EVER during the session :D Yay!

We found this amazing phonebooth inside one of the buildings and of course I *had* to use it!

UCR is known for its citrus trees, and the trees were in bloom, which actually really reminded me of my childhood! Lorelle stated that she never noticed the smell going to school here, and now when she smells citrus blooms, it’ll remind her of the session now ;)

We had a little fun cartwheeling! :D

Jason’s first cartwheel, EVER!! :D Yay!

    ************

This one instantly grabbed me after I took this series - I love the mood.

A continuation from this post. :) We met at the location he proposed at - the Island Prime Restaurant. Ellen & Ashley are two of the sweetest, most down to earth people ever! Ellen has an effortlessly natural smile, and they are just so comfortable together, it’s beautiful :)

At the cabana he proposed near :)

Trees! Trees! I love TREEEES! *runs around* Haha, well, this is how I felt when shooting Hazel & Kurtis’ engagement shoot last weekend! It came up that I was going to be up north, and the idea was brought up to the do the shoot in Davis & on the UC Davis campus because that’s where it all started ;) A storm had threated to cancel our shoot all week, but we stuck it out till the day of, and it turned out to be beautiful! Hazel & Kurtis, you two are incredibly sweet, and I had SO much fun romping around downtown Davis & your old stomping grounds at US Davis. I know Hazel is anxiously waiting to see some teasers, so here they are! ;)

I love love love the trees along this road

What they were looking up at

Hazel’s penguin player had to make an appearance too! ;)

    kim & remo . wedding.

03.14.08 // san jose, ca // st francis of assisi & the ranch golf club

What a wedding to kick off the official season! Kim & Remo had a beautiful wedding, set in the hills of San Jose. I forget how lush and GREEN it is up there! Spring was definitely on it’s way, as well as gracing us with a few showers during the couple shoot - which made things all the better for photos!

Kim & Remo, you two are gorgeous, wonderful people, and I had sooo much fun with you guys! Many blessings on your beautiful journey together :)

I warn you all now, there are a LOT of photos! :)

palm springs . trash the dress . the rest.

I am HORRIBLY behind on my posting from my regular blog to my xanga, so I'm going to do a few massive posts :)

So, during part of the shoot, some lady came down & yelled at us because we were on a national reserve. Oops! 30+ photographers & 10+ brides aren’t exactly inconspicuous. So some of us got the bright idea to drive down the the Salton Sea… AGAIN, and finish up the shooting. Steve & Stephanie were the only brave ones left to follow us crazy photogs. :)

Lauren is a stunning beauty, don’t you think? ;)
